Dr. Karen Roa Tort is a Mechatronics engineer who graduated from the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria en Ingeniería y Tecnologías Avanzadas (UPIITA-IPN). She obtained a Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, campus Zacatenco (ESIME Zac), with a specialization in photonic instrumentation, and she received a Ph.D. in Communications and Electronics from the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, campus Culhuacan (ESIME Culhuacan), where graduated with honors. Currently, she is an active member of the National Researchers System (SNII) and a full-time professor at the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Ingeniería campus Hidalgo (UPIIH-IPN), as well as a professor in the master’s program in Engineering and Design of Sustainable Systems at the UPIIH-IPN.
